Victory or Defeat?
I just don't get it. The combined efforts of the Republicans in the House, Nancy's stunt in pulling the plug in DC, myself, and many other Americans created a re-unification like we have not seen in years. Amazingly enough, BOTH of our GA Senators along with Graham, etc, decide to continue with this "gang" mentality and sabotage it all.
This smells of McCain tactics. It seems to me that this allows McCain to "change" his mind on drilling to appease the people and gain favor for the Presidential Election, yet insure that McCain's original stand of no drilling still succeeds.
I spent six months in 2004 very active in the local campaigns as a campaign manager for Doug McKittrick in the State House race. We were outspent 7 to 1, and missed the run-off by only 20 votes. I don't have formal training, I have never worked as a staffer or intern, but I have gifts and talents in communications, networking, and understanding the hearts and minds of the average American; after all, I am an average American. I can lead a charge, a movement, and can use my networking skills and contacts in very effective ways.
I have spent the last four years concentrating on my children. My youngest girls are about to enter 3rd and 4th grade. I feel I have instilled a foundation in them that is strong enough, where I am able to commit and dedicate myself back into the workforce full time once again.
The idea of the Republicans staying in DC, was not my idea. But I am the one that carried the idea to DC, and to the people. I have spent every waking hour this past week keeping the excitement moving. I have sent and received thousands of messages, phone calls, emails, blog posts, private messages, etc..
I have scheduled trips for folks to DC, made arrangements for them to meet with people on the Hill, scheduled interviews for myself and others. I even interviewed Duncan Hunter on Thursday. My relationships in DC have grown. My following in the blogesphere has grown, my influence on BlogTalkRadio has grown.
This is my point. I am planted in this trench. I am not retreating. I knew the next move was to throw our attention and focus onto the Senate, I was merely waiting to make sure the Republicans in the House were going to actually show up this Monday to continue. Myself and several others had already planned to start moving in on the Senate this Monday. Lo and behold, there is no doubt they proved me right. The folks I have been communicating with were calling me in amazement on Friday when this noise of the gang of 10 was made public and hit the blogesphere. "How did you know?"
I am in talks with two other groups (one not public yet- announcement and web site coming soon) about working for them. I can work 15 hours a day right here from home and make a huge impact. I will continue this fight. I will not stop. It will not stop with drilling, it will not stop with the border and immigration issue. I will not stop.
What I don't understand is how the Republicans can have this kind of support, this level of excitement, and then pull the plug with this gang of 10. They are teaching us that supporting McCain over Obama has truly made us the battered wife. Republicans had the perfect opportunity to battle the Pelosi, Reid, and Obama future of power, and they once again snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.
The momentum had changed. They had it in their hands, and they slapped us in the face. We have no where to go. It is time for a new party-- the "Common Sense" Party. There is a movement coming. there is a new emergence of conservative activism. We are ready to battle the Moveon moonbats. We are ready to spank KOS and the Marxist spoilers. But we are no longer willing to allow the Republicans to keep our support just because the other side scares us.
The Republicans have a big decision to make. Do they want to work with us? Do they want us on their side? Or do they want to continue the march into big government with the reputation of the party that had it all and threw it away?
I cannot help but shake the feeling that the Replicans in DC are truly a big government crowd, and they are willing to be the losers in order to make it happen. They are more than willing to lose as long as their agenda of more government control is acheived. Every time the Dems run for the cliff, the Republicans find a way to grab them by the ankles and jump of the cliff first.
I just don't get it!
But I don't have to get it......I only need to fight it.
GIVE ME A PLACE TO STAND AND I WILL MOVE THE EARTH....Archimedes
